"Names Within Names" Anagrams - Part 2

With the new tools and techniques that I am using to find anagrams, I am beginning to realize that finding people's names within other people's names is a very common occurrence. Originally, I was planning a page at stevengalen.com called Oddity Anagrams, where names within names would be a small segment. But now, I think this special type of anagram warrants its own page and even then, I couldn't list all of the ones that I am finding because there would be too many. Eventually, I will probably only catalogue one's that make sense. Here are some more examples that I have found since my last blog.

John Quincy Adams = Cash my Don Juan IQ

Helena Bonham Carter = Blame hot Anne Archer
Helena and Anne are actresses.

Grover Cleveland = VCR doll, Eva Green

Woody Harrelson = Yes! Ol' Ron Howard

Andrew Jackson = Jack Warden son
Andrew Jackson was a U.S. president. Jack Warden played the U.S. president in the movie Being There starring Peter Sellers.

Jayne Mansfield = Fly in James Dean
This anagram is probably the most interesting one here since both James and Jayne were actors from the same era. They also both died young in car accidents.

Elizabeth Montgomery = Emily Bronté goth maze
Elizabeth was best known for starring in the TV show Bewitched.

Chuck Norris = Un-Chris Rock

Franklin Pierce = Finer Cal Ripken
President and baseball player

Franklin D. Roosevelt = Stroke for Ivan Lendl
= Rod Laver tennis folk

Two tennis champions are found within the name of America's 32nd president.

Henry David Thoreau = Darth Vader in you, eh?

George Washington = I now gag Seth Rogen

Now that the methods are in place to discover names within names, I will start being more selective in which anagrams I catalog. I will be looking for anagrams of this type that make sense.

Six of the anagram subjects above are presidents. If you'd like to see anagrams of all the presidents, visit the link below

"Names Within Names" Anagrams

Every so often, when I was doing an anagram study of someone's name, I would spot a shorter famous name within those letters. It didn't happen very often and much of the time, a reasonable anagram could not be found anyway. Recently, I have been making a push to see if I can find more examples of this and I have been developing some tools to help me. I have only been doing this for about a week but I am eager to share what I have found so far.

Allesandra Ambrosio = Selma Blair's on a road

Beverly D’Angelo = Boldly Eva Green
Both are actresses.

Matthew Broderick = Watch trim Bo Derek
Also, Bo Derek arm twitch

Leonardo DiCaprio = Do I order Al Pacino?

Laurence Fishburne = Bruce Lee fan in rush

Joseph Gordon-Levitt = Spot elder Jon Voight
Both are actors

Ernest Hemingway = Seen with Meg Ryan
The first example I ever found, perhaps around 1997.

Josh Hutcherson = John Tesh chorus
Josh's name is very difficult for anagrams, with 3 H's, a J and a shortage of vowels. His name was also featured recently in a blog called The Hunger Games Anagrams (& film review). The anagram listed was Josh Hutcherson = Huh? Escort's john?

Manny Legace = Nag Cam Neely
Both are NHL hockey players

Peter MacNicol = Me? Eric Clapton?

Roberto Musci = Rob Tom Cruise
Roberto is a composer and musician.

Scottie Nguyen = Entice us, Tony G
Tony G is the nickname of Tony Guaga. This is a funny anagram since both are poker players and Tony definitely has a reputation for enticing players with his aggressive table talk.

Niccolo Paganini = Coining Al Pacino

Joey Sindelar = Jay Leno is red
Joey is a PGA golfer.

William Shatner = Will Smith Arena

Mary Steenburgen = Teen rubs Meg Ryan
The name Gene Autry can also be found within Mary's name but not much of an anagram can be found.

Donald Sutherland = Hurl lad Ted Danson

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga = O, wit of J. D. Salinger
Jo-Wilfried plays tennis and J. D. Salinger is most known for writing The Catcher in the Rye.

Serena Williams = Sam Neill, I swear!
